Research, design, implement and support complex IT Networks, Servers, and Systems. Technical expert in IT systems specializing in one or more specific technology area (Cisco, ExtraHop, F5, and PingFederate ) in a wide variety of technologies (i.e., software and/or hardware). Maintain high degree of awareness about emerging technologies and advise IT management. Provide expert advice and engineer repeatable processes relating to deployment, support and maintenance of all areas of expertise. This could include some project management of internal projects.
Minimum Education Requirements
Associates Degree or equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree.
Bachelors Degree BA/BS degree or equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.
Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements
Intermediate In-depth knowledge of enterprise environments and ability to engineer solutions to include but not limited to: Operating Systems, Desktop Operating Systems, Virtualization, Directory Services, E-mail, Disaster Recovery, Security, Antivirus, Storage Management, Print Management, Hardware Management, Mobile Device Management, Application Deployment, PKI, and DNS
Ability to understand complex systems and IT protocols. Ability to constantly adapt, learn and support new technologies.
Knowledge of the following applications - Cisco 5500 series firewalls, Cayalyst 6500 series chassis, Cisco 1000 and 3000 series routers
Knowledge of network segmentation and industry best practices
Knowledge of BGP/MPLS, WAAS, QoS, EIGRP configurations
Awareness of Change Management processes
Minimum Experience Requirements
10 or more years IT experience with any combination of the following: applications development, system technical support, systems administration, network engineering or system architecture. Minimum of 8 years of experience researching, designing, implementing complex systems
Experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and WiFi environments
Experience issuing and managing internal and external security certificates
Experience with NetMotion VPN connections
Experience with F5 load balancers
Experience troubleshooting and documenting complex network infrastructures
Minimum License/Certifications Requirements
