Description

We are looking for a self-motivated Support Developer with a Ruby background. You will be part of an Engineering team that delivers branded communities for our healthcare clients and supports our internal application support needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support our Client Success Team as they serve our clients all over the world
  • Work with our designers to deliver branded online communities for our clients, and maintain them over time
  • Troubleshoot issues in our production environment, escalating to the on-call Engineer as needed
  • Support Engineering team with code reviews and collaboration
  • Generate ad hoc and regularly requested activity reports for clients
  • Run reports and scripts using our MySQL database
  • Enhancing applications by identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Respond to tickets in a timely and professional manner
  • Support our US designers by creating assets from provided mocks
  • Support our QA team by assisting to diagnose errors in the staging environment
  • Help develop internal tools for manipulating data
  • Understand requests and how they translate in application features
  • Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications
  • Write high quality source code to program complete requests
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications
  • Conduct peer demo testing
  • Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of development experience
  • At least three (3) years in a support role
  • Strong SCSS/CSS, Javascript, and HTML skills
  • Strong SQL experience (database is MySQL)
  • Able to work flexible hours, long-term you may be supporting clients internationally (Hours will be 5am - 1pm EST)

Preferred Skills:

  • Liquid template experience
  • Full-stack and/or Ruby on Rails experience
  • Experience with asset/logo creation is a plus
  • Experience in designing and building applications
  • Ability to program in at least one programming language such as C#, Java (J2EE) etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools
  • Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles.
