Description
We are looking for a self-motivated Support Developer with a Ruby background. You will be part of an Engineering team that delivers branded communities for our healthcare clients and supports our internal application support needs.
Responsibilities
- Support our Client Success Team as they serve our clients all over the world
- Work with our designers to deliver branded online communities for our clients, and maintain them over time
- Troubleshoot issues in our production environment, escalating to the on-call Engineer as needed
- Support Engineering team with code reviews and collaboration
- Generate ad hoc and regularly requested activity reports for clients
- Run reports and scripts using our MySQL database
- Enhancing applications by identifying opportunities for improvement
- Respond to tickets in a timely and professional manner
- Support our US designers by creating assets from provided mocks
- Support our QA team by assisting to diagnose errors in the staging environment
- Help develop internal tools for manipulating data
- Understand requests and how they translate in application features
- Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications
- Write high quality source code to program complete requests
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Conduct peer demo testing
- Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code
Requirements
- At least three (3) years of development experience
- At least three (3) years in a support role
- Strong SCSS/CSS, Javascript, and HTML skills
- Strong SQL experience (database is MySQL)
- Able to work flexible hours, long-term you may be supporting clients internationally (Hours will be 5am - 1pm EST)
Preferred Skills:
- Liquid template experience
- Full-stack and/or Ruby on Rails experience
- Experience with asset/logo creation is a plus
- Experience in designing and building applications
- Ability to program in at least one programming language such as C#, Java (J2EE) etc.
- In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools
- Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles.
